About Us

A Dog's Dream Daycare, LLC, was established by Jill Schaus, longtime animal photographer and animal advocate in Naples, Florida. The facility has a non-traditional style of boarding, in that the dogs play in groups during the day and sleep in regular rooms in the evening rather than kennels. One of our caregivers sleeps at the facility to ensure the safety of the dogs.

The facility, located in East Naples, opened October 2008. Dogs engage in fun indoor and outdoor playtime activities, socialization, nap time and cuddle time in three playrooms that are designed with a home-like atmosphere, complete with furniture.

The facility is a safe, clean environment that features music recorded for animals, various toys, comfy spots to relax, a nap room, and a television that plays animal-interest movies and Animal Planet shows.

The staff is trained in animal behavior, having a clear understanding of how to manage off-leash interaction between dogs. Participants are separated into play groups that fit their size, energy level and play styles. Play groups are always monitored.

Dogs must pass a behavior assessment to be accepted at our facility. Proof of vaccinations for rabies, distemper/parvo and bordatella is also required. All dogs over six months of age must be spayed or neutered.

Schaus has the following certifications:

  • Pet First Aid, American Red Cross
  • Animal Behavior Training, Humane Society of the United States
  • Emergency Animal Rescue Training, American Humane Organization
  • Emergency Animal Rescue Training, FEMA

She is a volunteer member of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary's Rapid Response Team, a group that responds to aid animals in disaster areas.

A Dog's Dream Daycare also offers grooming with Gail DeSantis, who has more than a decade of experience.
